RDN servo saws can contribute to both quality and productivity improvement. By improving cut-length tolerances, you reduce scrap and eliminate the need to re-cut off-line. Set-up time is also reduced because the operator doesn't have to set saw table speed since the table follows the extrudate. This also means that throughout the extrusion run the saw table is always in sync with the extrudate. The servo controller cams the table travel to the product encoder ensuring real time cut length accuracy.
Cut length tolerance of a traveling saw with industry -standard pneumatic operation for the table motion is often ±0.125 in. or greater. A tolerance range of ± 0.015 in. is achievable with RDN's advanced servo option.
